What to eat for healthy hair

Today we’re going to talk about some of the foods that you can eat that will help you grow healthy hair.

In the video I explain what has been going on with me and how I came to eating these foods and noticing huge difference in my skin, nails and hair. 

I have been eating these foods for the past 3 months and  I have seen a huge difference in my hair, skin and nails. And this was absolutely accidental. I was doing research about the foods that are easily digestible and foods that I can eat without getting sick, but when you look at the nutritional profile of these foods they are a powerhouse of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that are great for our overall health being.  


Here are those foods: 

  1. Sweet Potatoes are loaded with beta carotene, our body  converts beta carotene into vitamin A. The vitamin A will boost your scalp's natural oils, so it seals the moisture and promotes hair growth while the Omega-3 fatty acids add luster by nourishing your hair follicles. Sweet potatoes are rich in biotin. A half-cup of cooked sweet potato contains approximately 2.4 mcg of the vitamin. According to the National Institutes of Health, adults need 30 mcg of biotin per day.

  2. Coconut oil is a natural way to help your hair grow longer, thicker, and faster. The vitamins and essential fatty acids naturally found in coconut oil nourish the scalp and help to remove sebum build-up from hair follicles.

  3. Ceylon cinnamon, Cinnamon is also known to be a very powerful antioxidant, which means it can protect the cells from free radicals, which may contribute to chronic diseases, illnesses, and other conditions.  When you use cinnamon oil in your hair masks it helps remove build-up from the scalp, allowing for healthier follicles that in turn promote better hair growth. 
  1. Hazelnuts are powerhouses of Vitamin E. Vitamin E may help support a healthy scalp and hair as it has natural antioxidant effects that could assist with maintaining hair growth. The vitamin's antioxidant properties could help reduce the amount of oxidative stress and free radicals that cause the hair follicle cells in a person's scalp to break down. Hazelnuts also contain biotin which is a B vitamin that promotes hair growth and overall scalp health.
  2. Cacao  powder contains magnesium that helps prevent hair loss while adding volume and shine to your hair. It also nourishes, strengthens, softens, and promotes healthy hair growth.
